Cloverleaf Cold Storage began providing refrigerated warehouse services to the food industry more than half a century
ago in Mankato, Minnesota, but our history goes back further than that. Our company began as the Farmers Produce Company in
Sioux City, Iowa, in 1934. By 1958, we had developed freezer warehouses in Sioux City in addition to Mankato, and in the following
years the company expanded through new development and joint ventures with our customers.
Throughout the years, Cloverleaf has been an innovator in the industry: building the first rack-supported freezer in the
United States, building the first large-scale urethane panel warehouse, being an early user of push-back rack designs, and
passing EDI transactions with our customers since 1989. Today, Cloverleaf is one of the largest privately held public
refrigerated warehouses in the United States.
In 1988 we had a vision to revolutionize warehouse services to the meat and poultry industry. Until that time, many warehouses
repacked fresh meat on loading docks, but Cloverleaf committed to providing boxing and other, expanded services in dedicated meat
processing establishments. Reviving the Farmers Produce name, Cloverleaf began offering customized fabrication and packaging services
in official USDA facilities unique in the industry. To this day, no other warehouse company matches the depth of services and processing
capacity that Cloverleaf offers through its Farmers Produce division in Sioux City,
Iowa, Chillicothe, Missouri, and Napoleon, Ohio.
